What CoSHH assessment services do we provide?

Many people believe that gathering a collection of materials safety datasheets is sufficient. No, like every other risk, you have to identify what the risks are, who is exposed and how you are going to control this.

The other common fault we see is that assessments are carried out, but not communicated to those exposed.

What we do for you is:

• Identify risks posed by substances you use, determine their magnitude and who is exposed,
• Determine methods by which those risks can be controlled
• Provide outputs including summaries designed to be made available at the point of use

How do we do it?

We use the SSS CoSHH Assessment System which contains a collection of data and assessments. For example, in the Printing Industry, we have nearly 2000 substances assessed. This means that the costs involved in assessments is kept to a minimum.

What we don't do in the CoSHH assessment service package

We don't:

• Complicate matters by assessing substances that don't pose a risk.
• Provide forms, etc., and then expect you to do all the work
• Assess risks in isolation. We need to talk to your people and it is a key requirement that we have free access.
